Just got back from Austin and the motto there is “keep Austin weird” well they’re doing a good job of it!  I have never ever in my many years of developing real property dealt with such flaky sub contractors.  I made a special trip to set up the stone install job with an installer that was referred to me, and he shakes my hand and tells me he will start on Monday.  this morning I get a call from his fiancee telling me that the job is too small good luck in finding somebody else.

This has been the blueprint for the way things have gone with trying to harness a labor force out there.  Word to the wise ………if you are thinking about doing a deal in Austin TX ……you better have a local in place who has reliable contacts otherwise you can expect tons of turnover with FLAKY subs!

There’s a material made called “Natural Ledge Panels”  This material is awesome! It is pre made panels of natural stone strips that are staggered and they are set into panels of 6” by random lengths.

I literally was getting turned down by many stone fabricators to cut blocks of stone into strips to create the look that I wanted for my Austin home.  Then one of the Fabricators mentioned Custom Stone Supply and this material.  I went right away and it was exactly what I was trying to create the hard way.
